Curator Judy Fox giving a tour to students from MassArt
Cecily Miller is working with BSA Space -- the Boston Society of Architects' gallery in their downtown headquareters -- to develop programming to accompany StereoType: New Directions in Typography. StereoType, curated by Judy Fox and Ginger Duggan of Curator Squared, is a groundbreaking exhibition that brings together experimental work by some of the world's most interesting and influential designers on view November 2014 to May 2015. Consulting services included:
- Working with BSA staff to organize programs complementing exhibition themes incuding curator tours, artist talks, a performance by the Boston Typewriter Orchestra combined with a gathering of collectors of vintage typewriters, and a PechaKucha showcasing the work of 12 designers, illustrators and typographers.
- Developing community engagement activities for Remco van de Craats, a designer based in the Netherlands, in order to secure grant support for his travel and expand the impact of his visit to Boston to install a site-specific piece. Activities including teaching a workshop at Lesley University, a tour of Le Laboratoire in Cambridge, and a presentation to the Mayor of Somerville and key staff about city branding based on van de Craats 2-year identity project for Eindhoven, NL.
- Working with MassArt and the Consulate General of Israel to bring prominent Israeli artist/designer Oded Ezer to Boston for the Graphic Design Department's first artist-in-residence program, including 3 days of teaching with students and a public lecture.
